Define the outcome
“Increase sales” is a direction, rather than a task. Write down the outcome, deadline, and measure of success. Your team needs a shared understanding of the goal.
Assign one owner
Give each task one person responsible for completion. Identify contributors and their roles as well. Shared work should still have a clear owner.
Build an action plan
Break work into steps: what needs doing, who will do it, and when? Provide information, authority, and resources upfront. Discovering obstacles on the deadline leaves little room to respond.
Review progress regularly
At agreed intervals, compare progress with the plan. Ask what is complete and what is blocking the next step. Adjust the plan when necessary while keeping ownership clear.
Close the loop and learn
Completion is more than a task status. Did the work produce the business outcome you wanted? Review sales, payments, and costs together. Data collected in Prospect Cloud ERP can support that discussion.
